MIKE MAILMAN
Born at Hoag Hospital in October of 1971 to 'a pair of hippies in a shitty
VW bus' and immediately turned over to the adoption ward. Former 52nd street
local with acute peripherary blindness to people going left and also
spontaneous hearing loss when taking off in either direction. First Volcom
Art department full-time subordinate. Bass player for Newport's infamous Karl
Malden Experience and the equally subtile and socially conscious Four Stroke
Donkey. Lived in the Newport warzone in the mid to late 90's. Moved to
France in summer 1999 to direct artistic activities under the former regime
until 2006. After seeing the film 'Adventures in Babysitting' on psychedelic
substances, he bailed out on the art world, citing an allergy to "among
other things, fedora hats, shameless self-promotion, and the general
narcissism that makes the art world turn. I won't mention modern
longboarding and fixies" ...too late. Currently realizing his career
ambition in babysitting: managing "something or other" and playing in
various musical projects such as Chunderthrust (Power/Death Metal)
Gargleblast, (black metal) Beavertails On Acid (psychedelic/surf/garage) and
a Three Dog Night cover band with his wife and two Labradors called Boogaloo
Dog. Has a cat named Chopper who will kick your fucking ass. Believe it.
Living in Seignosse, France, riding six channel surfboards and listening to
bands that begin with the letter "D" - Darkthrone, The Dwarves, and The
Damned. This specimen has not evolved since high school.
"if it's an original, it cannot be considered retro"
