With the VQS World Champs quickly approaching and only 4 regional events left to qualify, the competitors were hungrier than ever this last weekend at the Butterfish Surf Series at Pipes, Ventura. The early morning brought some favorable winds and fun for the early rounds of competition. However, once the Pro-Am division hit the water, the wind had switched and it was full on victory at sea. Despite the gale force onshore winds nearly blowing everything and everyone away, the kids crazy antics in and out of the water kept everyone laughing and enjoying the day.

The wind was howling about 30MPH which made it ideal for wind surfing and beach antics!

The Groms were ready to party so we gave them a blind fold and played guess what we're squirting in your face!
Rodger Eales was another one who made a long journey to sunny Ventura, California!
The kids filled their bellies with delicious Chipotle Burritos, except for one Grom who chose to have a liquid lunch diet!
Mike McCabe worked his way through the early rounds but just fell short in the Repo!
The Squids were out of control as usual, but this time around we made the parents get down and dirty in a pickle eating contest!
Matt McCabe breezed through his first heat in the morning but lost to his twin brother in the second! ZING!
Skylar Lawson took home the Electric Volt Thrower move with a front side full rotation 360! It was so nuts we threw in a Volcom Snowboard!
Coming off a 4th place finish the week before at the Goldfish, Will Eagleton took home the win in Ventura!
