Volcom is seeking to fill a temporary position for an experienced patternmaker/fit technician. The duration of this position is expected to be at least 5 months.
A minimum of 8 years patternmaking and fit experience is required for this position.
Successful candidate must be experienced in men’s shirts and knits.
Action sports industry experience is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
Extensive patternmaking skills on a CAD system are required.
Computer sketching ability is also helpful.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting in the building of catalogs for each season.
- Review proofs of printed copy and art and copy materials.
- Review material to determine if it conforms to standards and specifications.
- Streamline the production process and continuously push the boundaries of our graphical look.
- Work directly with Senior production artists.
- Work closely with Catalog Manager, sales, design and art to ensure all line books are correct, on time and of good quality.
- Create custom lay outs or other graphic elements.
- Complete layouts and write instructions to prepare materials for printing.
- Meet with Design teams to update them on CAD template changes/specs.
- Research and development ideas for future seasons. (treatments, paper stock, bindery, etc.)
Required Skills:

We have a new, full-time opportunity for an experienced Planner to join our team!
Job Description:
The Divisional planner will work directly with the Divisional Sales Manager to constantly maintain seasonal planned buys down to the style-color level.
The planner will be in constant communication with the Divisional Merchandisers to relay changes in category goals and product initiatives and will maintain a quantitative, bottoms up, snapshot of decisions made at all stages of development.
Planned rollups for each season will be due at various stages of the development cycle and general responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
• Work with Divisional Managers and Sales Reps to “forecast” seasonal & fiscal goals
• Manage the bottoms up financial plan for each season and ensure that it is keeping in line with the bottoms down goals and initiatives
• Create and manage the “numeric” and/or “quantitative” line plan each season
• Manage monthly buys and inventories to achieve planned financial goals
• Optimize inventory offerings to maximize profitability
• Reforecast in-season plans as necessary and rollup and report on an ongoing basis,br>
• Maintain seasonal planned buys at all points of seasonal development
• Act as analysis & reports manager for divisions & categories assigned
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience in planning preferred. Experience in purchasing, allocations and/or merchandising considered.
• Strong financial & analytical skills a must
• Excellent Excel skills a must
• Enterprise planning software experience appreciated
• AA and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Proposed Structure:
Planners will be assigned to designated divisions and will maintain the forward looking plans as well as manage the in-season buys and inventory decisions.
Planners will work directly with Sales Managers, Divisional Merchandisers and Purchasing teams and will report directly to the Planning & Analysis Manager.

Electric Visual’s softgood’s division is in search of an individual with strong graphic design experience to join the team. Please note that this position will be based out of Volcom’s corporate office in Costa Mesa.
Responsibilities Include:
-The design of both inline and SMU product that meets the directional goals, pricing and schedule set by key accounts
-The completion of all technical packages for styles
-Work closely with the softgoods designer to create amazing graphics for the product
-Involvement in meetings with key accounts
-Participation in sales meetings and trade shows
Position Requirements:
-Understanding of production methods, developmental lead times and materials/construction required
-Minimum of 2 years experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably with SMU experience in the action sports industry
-Understanding of Electric’s target market
-The ability manage multiple projects on set deadlines
-Ability to excel under pressure and meet strict deadlines
-Ability to work overtime when necessary
-Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, PhotoShop and MS Office
-Design degree preferred

Vos missions et responsabilités seront les suivantes :
Suivi de collection
• Mise à jour informatique des dessins de la collection en cours et des données.
• Création et mise à jour des fiches matières.
• Recherche de matières/fits/détails/couleurs pour les futures collections en vu de création de panneaux d’ambiance.
• Propositions de coloration des sérigraphies (logos) de la collection en cours.
• Suivi des réceptions d’échantillons et vérification des modèles.
• Travaux administratifs divers.
Meeting de vente
• Aide à la préparation du meeting de vente.
• Participation aux présentations de collection (habillage mannequins…).
Profil requis:
Etudiant(e) en 3ème année ou + Design Textile/Modélisme, vous avez une première expérience dans le textile féminin (PAP, marque de surf/streetwear) et portez un vif intérêt à l’industrie textile des sports de glisse.
Autonomie, rigueur, réactivité, esprit d’initiative et sensibilité produit seront des qualités essentielles pour la réussite de ce stage au sein d’une équipe dynamique et passionnée.
