Brisbane was the second stop on the QLD leg of the “Wild in the parks tour” where once again Volcom put on a comp to be remembered at the Paddington skate park. Paddington skate park had it all, transition, rails and ledges but was lacking in the lady department. Mapstone was running the show on the microphone, whilst Azar, Brad and Purush had an eagle’s eye on the judging. Jake Duncombe did a one man demo keeping the crowd on the edge of there seat the whole day. There was the usual “Can I have this, Can I have that” crowd, with the board toss even resulting in half the tent being caved in. Brisbane locals Dave “Battle Cat” Harris, Karl Bayldon and Dennis Durrant even came to join the party. The comp was split in to three different divisions, under 15’s, over 16’s and the always exciting “girls” division. Each division, with a very high standard of skating, kept the judges on edge. The crowd was in disbelief as skaters busted tricks from every angle.

UNDER 15’s
The under 15’s competition proved very hard for the judges, with such a high level of skating and so many talented kids. In the end it was Eli Harrison who took out 1st place, winning with both constistancy and style. 50-50’s to smith grind across and down the rail and transition skills that anyones mum would be proud of. 2nd place was Chase Jaegar and 3rd was Jesse Noonan who both were major stand outs.
16’s AND OVER
The 16’s and over division blew every one away, the competition was fierce with everyone going for glory. First place was a battle of the titans with the top three in a class of there own.
If you looked to one you missed the other they we’re really going for broke, tricks the park had never seen and the crowd really new it.
Buy the end of the finals there we’re many a flustered girl and jealous males the many, once davo dee cleark, darth Blackwell and james brody had finished destroying the park with massive kickflips over the hips or the nameless amount of trick that went down the rail the crowd was screaming so loud we had complaints from the surrounding neighbors..
